Kedmah Anchors off Tower Bridge

LONDON. Monday (Palcor). – The Jewish ship “Kedmah” arrived in the Thames estuary yesterday afternoon from Antwerp. The Jewish flag was hoisted while the ship waited at Tower Bridge for the tide to subside.

Later in the afternoon the Kedmah watched by a huge crowd, passed under the opened bridge and anchored off London Bridge. She was flood-lit at night, with the Shield of David prominently displayed. This was the first time in history that a Jewish flag has been displayed on the Thames.

Owing to the ship's delayed arrival, the consecration ceremony was postponed. It is expected that she .will leave for Palestine within the next few days.
